Democratic senators are preparing to strip the provision from the legislation. BlackBerry Cuts: BlackBerry Ltd. said Friday it is cutting 40 percent of its global workforce after losing nearly $1 billion for the second quarter, CNNMoney reports. Franken Concerns: Senator Al Franken (D-Minn.) has asked Apple Inc. to address security and privacy concerns he has about the fingerprint recognition technology in the new iPhone 5S, The Associated Press reports. "Let me put it this way: if hackers get a hold of your thumbprint, they could use it to identify and impersonate you for the rest of your life," Franken wrote.
