NCSC Issues Call To Action on Language Access

Following its Language Access Summit last year, NCSC has issued its Call to Action on the issue. The Action Steps identified are: Step 1: Identifying the Need for Language Assistance Step 2: Establishing and Maintaining Oversight Step 3: Implementing Monitoring Procedures Step 4: Training and Educating Court Staff and Stakeholders Step 5: Training and Certifying Interpreters Step 6: Enhancing Collaboration and Information Sharing Step 7: Utilizing Remote Interpreting Technology Step 8: Ensuring Compliance with Legal Requirements Step 9: Exploring Strategies to Obtain Funding As well as describing these steps, the document includes a number of action example highlights for each step.
