Microsoft Corp. General Counsel Brad Smith on Friday vowed that the tech giant will continue its push for greater transparency after the U.S. government's pledge last week to release annual reports on its surveillance. The government's announcement on Thursday to annually publish the total number of national security demands for customer data is "a good start," Smith wrote in a blog post. But those statistics aren't sufficient, he wrote. "[T]he public deserves and the Constitution guarantees more than this first step," Smith wrote.
