Financial Services Roundtable Promotes New No. 2

Financial Services Roundtable has named Eric Hoplin its new second-in-command, the Washington, D.C.-based trade group announced Thursday. Hoplin, currently the Roundtable's vice president of communications and organizational strategy, on January 1 will become the organization's executive director under its president and chief executive officer, former Republican Minnesota Governor Tim Pawlenty. The Roundtable represents 100 of the biggest financial services companies that operate in the U.S., including Bank of America Corp., Citigroup Inc., and JPMorgan Chase & Co. He will succeed Richard Whiting, who is resigning as the Roundtable's No. 2 official after 30 years at the organization. Whiting serves as general counsel in addition to executive director. The Roundtable hasn't picked a new GC yet, Hoplin said. Affiliate publication Corporate Counsel has more.
